Biography

Nick Cage (real name Nick Denton) is best known as the manager of Dizzee Rascal and co-owner of Dirtee Stank. He is also a very talented record producer.

Cage was a producer working with Roll Deep and also acting as Wiley's manager helping him to sign with XL Recordings. He first met Dizzee when they were recording the Roll Deep hit Bounce. Cage took Dizzee under his wing and got him signed to XL Recordings and Wiley was (or thought he was) put on the backburner.

In 2003 Dizzee was in Ayia Napa with Roll Deep and got himself into a fight with members of So Solid Crew as Dizzee was his protégé Wiley got involved to try and resolve the situation by arranging a meeting but Dizzee is said to have started a fight with So Solid leader Megaman. The fight happened after Dizzee slapped Lisa Maffia of So Solid's buttocks. Dizzee was later stabbed by a group of unidentified attackers who nearly killed him. Cage flew to Ayia Napa and according to Wiley Dizzee began to blame him for the situation (in his track Hype Talk Dizzee claimed Wiley just left him in Napa). From this point on Cage would try and protect Dizzee from trouble by keeping him away from others although despite Cage's opinion that Dizzee needed protecting from others it is more likely he needed to be protected from getting himself in trouble because of the rough, "bad boy" persona he had.

As well as being a talented record producer and excellent manager, Cage has a reputation as someone not to be messed with. When Vice Magazine published a picture of Dizzee Rascal holding a knife in 2003, Cage threatened to tear Vice UK Editor Andy Capper “limb from limb".

Wiley has said several times that his biggest mistake was leaving Cage as a manager "But then I was always jealous that he liked Dizzee more so maybe I had to". [1]
