Birmingham Mic Controllers is a birmingham grime crew designed to promote birmingham grime music. It is setup by AV.

The weird thing about this crew is that instead of releasing music, they release dvds. Actually, AV makes the DVD and releases it. The whole crew is run by him.

Biography by AV

My Name is AV i been into music since a young youth listen to sound boy tapes. Acid House n Jungle, Hip Hop and old Skool Garage. Inspired by MC's like Bassman and the Jungle scene. I stared DJing about ten years ago mixing Jungle and old school garage. I sarted playing at raves in town under 18's and any house partying what was on. I used the buy five records a week. Everybody used to know me as DJ AV. I linked with a gezza called Danny D, who linked me up with a pirate station called smooth FM.

I just to play every Sunday 2-4, as i started to get my name out there, i had very good techinic on the turn tables. I used to have five MC's ridin the beats! Big names like Vader, Devilman, Powerhill Crew, Brasco, Fenton, any many more. Back in them days i made one Dirty Dubplate that smashed down every dance. Respect to Ganzie, i moved off that station to Passion FM, by this time Man was a big DJ for garage scene in B'Ham. I used to go back to back with DJ Shady, and MC Chucky. We had the whole place locked down, MC Chucky was a big MC in the game at these times and still is. He was one of the first original MC's from brum as well as Ryder, Rizla P, GT, MCC, Jedi and Mc Doctor. Passion FM got locked off and had to jump onto the new trend that was serious FM. Me and Devilman used to go on there everyday coz it was right by my yard in the B6 area. Big up Ducky for running that station.

As i could DJ i could MC at the same time. I used the wright nuf bars when i was in my yard chillin, but because of Birmingham Madness that station got locked off. The streets were hot and the club scene went down. No clubs would play garage, i used to play in Rat and Parot on broad street, that was big. I love that the vibe but that went down hill aswell cause of the trouble everyone caused,

Two years pass and i started to like the new stuff Wiley was doing and Dizzee Rascal i got back into to it write bars, and left the DJing. After seeing the different dvd from london, i fort birmingham needed to do one aswell cause there is bear talent up here that needs to be reconized.[1]
