Grime Wikipedia:About
From Grime Wikipedia
As fans of the scene, we were becoming increasingly annoyed at the lack of a good online resource to access information on the grime scene, whether it be a history of old sets and links to download them or just what a certain artists mix CD was called. To get this information, endless searching of forums and other online sites was required. How much easier would it be if it was in one place?
Eventually tiring of this, we decided to set up the Grimepedia, which is basically a website that works exactly like Wikipedia, although it is entirely grime based, storing information on anything to do with grime. From slang used in songs to make the music more accessible for people who aren't familiar with all the terms, to artists histories in the scene and the cd's, dvd's and vinyls they have released.
Realising that the possibilities were beyond just a text based site, one of our team spent extensive time editing the code to allow Youtube videos and other gadgets to be embedded straight onto the Wikipedia pages to help showcase an artists talent right there on any given page. Feel free to log onto the site and read about artists connected with the scene and also to sign up and contribute, even adding MC's and DJ's from your own endz to represent grime where your from.
