Biography

Dot Rotten (formally known as Young Dot) is an MC and producer from the SW9 area in South London, and parring in Stockwell and Brixton. Despite genuinely being both a producer and an MC, he started producing because he found it difficult to get beats from other producers to vocal. Young Dot has released two mixtapes and three instrumental E.Ps, and titled the forthcoming Hoodstars album as “Too Hood to Care Star”. He is a member of the grime collectives OGs and Hoodstars.

In 2008, Dot was expected to release a project with Brutal, which was to be entitled 10% Effort. However, the project only featured Brutal, and not Dot also as was planned. Despite this, Rotten featured heavily on the 2008 release OG Season, and is expected to release solo and/or group projects this year.

One was a instrumental mixtape made purely with a VST called plugsounds, with the second and latest one entitled 'This Is The Beginning', which is a vocal mixtape produced mainly by Young Dot himself, although one track is produced by Shimmer.

July 2008 saw the release of 5 instrumental MP3 mixtapes entitled "Rotten Riddims". They are available on emusic website and featured previously unrealesed instrumental material. Furthermore, this month saw the release of his debut mixtape under his new moniker 'Dot Rotten'. The release was entitled R.I.P Young Dot.
