Concrete Jungle is the title of the debut album from North London grime artist Scorcher, and should land sometime in 2008.
Excerpt from RWD Interview
'“You see the whole style of the album so far is street related. That’s the world we live in. It’s like a f*cking zoo. You gotta be careful in the world we’re living in. There’s a tune on Simply The Best Volume 2 called Concrete Jungle where I use all of these metaphors for the streets using animals and I was just inspired to continue from there. It’s that vibe; roads are hard. I can’t think of anyone that’s done a harder album like [Concrete Jungle] is hard, hard, hard. If you like Simply The Best then you’ll love the album. I haven’t felt like this in a long time and it’s all coming naturally, I’m not thinking about anything like when I made Leader Of The New School I set out to show my creativity, but this time it’s more like the first project all over again. When I made that I didn’t have any ‘I need to do this…’ thoughts in my head, I just did it. I’m just gonna do me with no outside influences, I have no intention of pleasing anyone else. 15 tracks of what I’ve put my heart and soul into has to be the best album I can make. There’s gonna be the usual questions like ‘is there gonna be grime on there and all that?’ F*ck it.”'
