Background
Formed in their early college days, Balistiq have crafted their sound as a result of many different music genres.
Disgusto brought the influence of Jungle/DnB, Underground Rap and a touch of Dub Reggae into the fray while Nábru himself added a lighter side to their work due to his more musical nature.
Inner City Dwellers
The pair began working on music after realizing they both had the potential to organize sound in a creative and distinct way.
As time went by, they managed to build contacts with important people within the industry and then went onto being part of a set up known to many as Related Music.
Consisting of Disgusto's older brother Mc Rage (well known in the DnB scene) and a few more of their tight friends and family, Related Music in the past couple of years, have been putting the work in and are now starting to see the fruit of their labor.
The most notable project to date which Balistiq have been directly involved in is the establishment of the Inner City Dwellers (visit www.myspace.com/icdwellers for more info) which is a Rock/Dub/Punk Band led by Mc Rage and backed with production from Balistiq.
The Present
Currently working on a number of projects, Balistiq have also worked with the likes of Roll Deep, JME (Boy Better Know Shh Hut Yuh Muh Edition 1 - Final Boss, Boy Better Know Poomplex Edition 2 - The Future), All In One (Off The Rail - Its Over), Chipmunk (League of My Own - Dont be Greedy), Trim (Soulfood Vol.3 - What Are We Now), Dynamite MC, Janita (Enjoy the Silence Remix), J2K and upcoming artist Remson.
Their first full contribution to the Grime Scene - a mix cd featuring a number of household names is being built currently. More details will be announced very soon via the myspace page.
